What We Offer
Therapy Kids, LLC. is an outpatient therapy practice servicing children and families within the Cape Fear, NC region. We are a play-based, family centered clinic that focuses on providing your child the opportunity and skills to help them learn, grow, and thrive.
Our therapy team works toward assisting children and their families by promoting development in many skilled areas. We tailor our services by identifying and utilizing meaningful activities of your child and family, and use these activities to assist your child in gaining success and confidence in their daily routines. We address the strengths within your family's natural context to create a greater carry over and participation of the family as a whole.
*Occupational Therapy is considered a healthcare service that is covered by insurance. Private pay options are also available.
EARLY INTERVENTION
A child's earliest years are filled with new stimulations and novel experiences that drive their cognitive, social, and physical growth. The first 3 years of life are a critical time for brain development, especially if a child is delayed or restricted in development. If a child needs support to develop optimally, occupational therapy can help.

CERTIFIED AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS SPECIALISTS
As of 2018, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in fifty nine children have been identified with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Families with a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder experience more dysfunction than those families of typical developing children (Vernhet et al., 2019). For families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, participating in activities that fulfill a family’s daily roles and routines can be challenging.
Our therapists have thoroughly developed professional knowledge and clinical competence in promoting a higher level of understanding and care to the community of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
SENSORY-BASED INTERVENTIONS
Children develop sensory integration as their bodies and brains adapt with what occurs in their environment. When this adaptive response is sufficient to meet the demands of their environment, the child is able to participate efficiently.
It is our specialty to assess and interpret the sensory strategies that your child needs to be successful in participating in the world around them.
CERTIFIED LEARNING WITHOUT TEARS SPECIALISTS
Handwriting is one of the most frequent referrals for occupational therapy services. Learning Without Tears is a program that uses child-friendly, multisensory learning materials to instruct in letters and handwriting, making it a more enjoyable and fun experience for kids. In addition, as certified handwriting specialists, our occupational therapists have been trained in specific screening and evaluation tools to further analyze and better assist your child in the many parts and skills that make up writing legibility.
